I've noticed something, and maybe I am perceiving things incorrectly, but it seems that when Biden has to speak extemporaneously, he wears two masks and when he has a speech to give or the pre-screened questions from the media, he wears no mask. What stood out to me is with two masks on, his voice is crystal clear when it should be muffled. I wonder if his speaking is pre-recorded and being played in those times. Let me know if I'm imagining things.
There are only two motivations in life - love and fear.
As we fight the destruction of our country (and thus the world) under the Biden administration's leadership, it is crucial to be aware of our motivation. Is it love or fear?
The danger of fear as a motivator is it eventually turns into hate as sacrifices and pain accrue. However, with love as our motivation, any sacrifice is welcome and empowers love. The more we sacrifice, the more pain we endure, and the greater the suffering, the happier we become.
It is also helpful to keep in mind that people do not knowingly commit evil. Even the most destructive people think what they are doing is right. Moreover, they develop hate in their hearts for their "enemy" because they act out of fear. Furthermore, that hate grows over time and distorts their perception of others, reinforcing their perverted view of the world. It is a vicious cycle which only love can defeat.
The only enemy we face is the one within. The one that encourages us to hate, complain, mock, and denigrate others. We must stand against this enemy and not give an inch.
Recall Matthew 5:43-48. We are to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Still, we are not showing love to our enemies by allowing them to live in sin.
Read the posts on social media that Conservatives make in response to Progressives. Ask yourself if these are based in love or fear. Do they convict in a way that allows the other side to change their position or at least compromise? Or, do they force them to defend their position even if they discover it to be in the wrong?
Think of how a person responds when attacked. Do they at some point come to accept that you are trying to be helpful and convert to your way of thinking? No. They dig in and become more obstinate. Now, our hopes of reconciliation are limited, and it is our fault, not theirs.
