French Minister of Armed Forces, Sébastien Lecornu, announced that Paris and Yerevan will formalize agreements on the purchase of French weaponry, particularly in the field of air defense on Sunday.

"It is necessary to allow Armenia to protect its civilian population and secure its borders. Tomorrow, we will officially finalize Armenia's acquisition of a specific quantity of weaponry from French manufacturers, including the signing of a contract will enable the country to defend its airspace," stated Lecornu in an interview with the Parisien newspaper.

Earlier this month, during discussions about the 2024 budget, which took place in the Senate committee, Minister Lecornu stated that France would exclusively supply Armenia with defensive weaponry aimed at helping Armenia protect lives and ensure the security of its territory.
