REPORT: MORE THAN HALF OF U.S. AT RISK OF WINTER BLACKOUTS AS A DIRECT RESULT OF BIDEN ENERGY POLICIES
This warning was issued by an energy watchdog. Referencing the 2023–2024 Winter Reliability Assessment, the Nat'l Rural Electric Cooperative Assoc. finds that much of North America is at an elevated risk of having insufficient energy supplies to meet demand in extreme operating conditions.
The areas identified as being at elevated risk extend over much of the eastern two-thirds of the continent. Residents from Texas to New England could be subject to blackouts due to "inadequate generator weatherization and limitations to natural gas infrastructure."
