Unusual Warning to Israelis in Sri Lanka
A terrorist squad is currently searching for Israelis in the Arugam Bay area, a popular region known for its resorts and surfing spots. If you are there, or if you have relatives or friends in the area or anywhere in southern or western Sri Lanka (as there is concern the squad is moving), leave immediately!
As for the rest of the country, the warning is at Level 3. Cancel any non-essential trips and avoid traveling until the threat subsides, as the squad may target other areas as well.
For those unable to leave Sri Lanka, it is advised to relocate to urban areas, particularly the capital Colombo, where there is a stronger security presence. Additionally, minimize the display of Israeli symbols.
While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, evidence suggests the involvement of Iran rather than a locally initiated group.
The U.S. has also issued a severe travel warning for its citizens currently on the island.
