Tehran fears Trump's victory in the presidential elections and his "automatic" support for Israel. The fear is that Trump will encourage Netanyahu to attack the nuclear facilities and carry out targeted assassinations of senior officials in Iran, and will reimpose his "maximum pressure" policy, with an emphasis on the oil industry

An Iranian official said a Trump victory would be a "nightmare." According to him, "He will increase the pressure on Iran to please Israel, increase the sanctions and their enforcement - and our regime will be financially paralyzed." Two regional sources said: "Trump's reelection will be a cup of poison for Khamenei."
A Western source said: "If Trump returns to power, he will support Israel's plans to attack Iran's nuclear facilities"
