Japanese Court Makes MASSIVE Ruling
A prohibition of same-sex marriage has been ruled legal under the constitution by a Japanese court. Three couples who had actually submitted a legal motion for compensation stated the restriction breached their rights to equality and totally free union. In 2021, a Sapporo court ruled in favor of the couples when it stated the restriction was unconstitutional.
The Osaka District Court reversed the previous ruling with its judgment provided on June 20. The district court discovered that Japan’s 1947 constitution just describes the liberty of marital relationship for male-female couples and does not consist of same-sex couples.
According to translations of Judge Fumi Doi’s declarations, Japanese society acknowledged marital relationship as a secured system for heterosexual couples who bear and raise kids.
