— Local Brazilian-Japanese media reports that voters from 11 sections in Japan had to vote with paper ballots due problems with electronic voting machines
According to them, six of the urns that failed are in sections 1740 and 1750 in Hamamatsu (Shizuoka); 1818, 1820 and 1821, in Oizumi (Gunma); and 1787, in Tokyo, according to an authorization for the use of canvas urns issued by the judge of the Foreign Electoral Zone, Priscila Faria da Silva.
Another section, 1765, also had problems in Tokyo.
In addition, the Consulate of Nagoya (Aichi) reported that there were problems with four electronic voting machines in sections 164, 165 and 168 in Nagoya; and 247, in Takaoka (Toyama).
The ballots are being deposited by voters in canvas urns and the votes will be counted by the poll workers from each polling station shortly after the end of voting

This Tacoma, Washington cop calmly pulled up to an active shooter, put down his coffee, grabbed his rifle, and downed the perp from 180 yards with a single shot.
Ladies and gentlemen, this here is the most ice-cold gunslinging lawman in all of Washington state.
Dude calmly parked, put down his coffee, grabbed his rifle, sighted in with his red dot, used the cruiser to brace himself, then downed an active shooter at 183 yards!
He was probably whistling the "Andy Griffith" tune the whole time, too.

Universal background checks for ammunition pushed by House Democrats
House Democrats quietly tucked into a big spending bill a provision to create a so-called universal background check for ammunition purchases.
This means that to buy ammunition from a licensed dealer – or a private sale – you would have to get the same FBI background check as you do to buy a gun. A gun-rights group and a Republican member of the committee are trying to stop it.
The provision is hidden in the Democrats’ report that accompanies the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies appropriations bill for 2023. Gun Owners of America (GOA) sent an alert to Congress to warn that if the bill gets passed as written, it infringes on Second Amendment rights.
